AI in business

AI Isn’t Magic. And That’s a Good Thing.

Everyone is talking about a breakthrough. Hardly anyone talks about what actually works on a Monday morning in an ordinary company.

The problem with the AI narrative

The media love sensation. “AI will replace 80% of jobs by 2030!” sounds great in a headline. It gets harder when you have to turn it into real action at a manufacturing company in Silesia.

Because here’s the truth: AI is a tool. A powerful one, but still a tool. It doesn’t think for you. It doesn’t know your context. It doesn’t know that Kasia from marketing has just left and someone has to take over her work.

What actually works

In my experience, AI works best in three areas:

  1. Automating repetitive tasks: reports, emails, data formatting
  2. Decision support: data analysis, comparing scenarios
  3. Content creation: drafts, summaries, translations

No, AI won’t come up with your company’s strategy for you. But it will help you prepare the data you need to build one in a fraction of the time.

Where to start?

Not with tools. With processes. Sit down with your team and answer one question together: “Where are we losing time on things a machine could do?”

That’s your starting point. The rest is implementation, and that’s what I’ll be writing about in upcoming posts.
